Lauren spent her childhood exploring the mountains of WNC and finding every salamander, toad, turtle, and garter snake within a twenty mile radius. In her home, there were cats, dogs, quails, chickens, hamsters... anything that you could write a 4-H project record book about!

Her professional life has been just as diverse as her experience with animals. She's worked and lived abroad, supported non-profits, taught middle school for nine years, and currently balances her own entrepreneurial adventure as a piano instructor and calligrapher at Laurel Mountain Studios. One constant, throughout it all, has been caring for others' animals for over 15 years. Her natural affinity for animals is guided by love and respect for the individual spirit within each unique creature.

Lauren's favorite places to be are at home reading books, running in the woods, and chasing her children, English setter rescue, and husband down every trail they can find.
